Cheese & Garlic Biscuits
3 Cups chicken or beef broth I Egg ½ to 1cup cheddar cheese (grated) 1 or 2 fresh garlic cloves (minced) 1 Teasthingy anise seed 1 Teasthingy oregano 3 Tablesthingys canola oil
Mix all of the above together and add:
4-½ Cups whole-wheat flour 4-½ Cups unbleached flour
Work in flour well – dough will be stiff. Roll out aprox: ¼ inch and cut into desired shapes and place on cookie sheets.
Preheat oven to 350 and bake for aprox: 20 minutes or until golden brown. After baking return all of the cookies to a pan and leave in oven overnight to dry out more. Store in a cookie jar (not airtight) and cookies will last for months.
Makes a very large batch but it can be halved.
